Turning 19 at the end of January, Trentin will compete in six rounds of the WRC2 category in the World Rally Championship during the 2026 season. The youngster’s campaign will begin in February at Rally Sweden.
Trentin will also compete in a Škoda Rally2 car in Sweden, the Canary Islands, Portugal, Greece, Finland and Rally Sardinia. The team will once again be Delta Rally, which has previously supported Trentin.
– I am happy to announce my six-rally programme in six WRC2 events. A big thank you to everyone who made this possible, Trentin grins.
The Italian driver made his breakthrough this year in his home country’s gravel series, winning the championship at just 18 years of age. Trentin also contested five WRC events last season, but the rallies still proved to be learning experiences.
In the Canary Islands, Rally Sardinia and Finland, however, Trentin reached the finish and scored points in Sardinia (9th in WRC2) and Finland (10th in WRC2). In contrast, his rallies in Portugal and Greece ended in retirements.
This season, the targets are certainly higher, as all the events apart from Sweden are already familiar to the Italian.
