Ogier, 42, is one of the greatest rally drivers of all time. The Frenchman secured the ninth world championship title of his career in the recently concluded season and drew level with his compatriot Sébastien Loeb in the number of championships.

Ogier’s former co-driver Julien Ingrassia makes a striking comparison in the latest episode of More than Machine, which says a great deal about the esteem in which Ogier is held.

“Every sport has its geniuses. In music there were Mozart and Beethoven, in tennis there are Nadal and Federer, and in rallying there are Ogier and Loeb,” Ingrassia compares.

Hyundai’s Thierry Neuville also speaks in the episode in a praising tone about his long-time rival.

“Ogier has always been the hardest to beat during my career. He hates losing and always wants to win,” Neuville says to the cameras.

Ogier has competed part-time in the World Rally Championship since 2022. The Frenchman claimed the ninth title of his career in the recently concluded season, but his hunger for victory has still not faded.

Ogier will continue with Toyota next season and can set out to chase the tenth world title of his career. And the chance to win is indeed one of the biggest reasons why the Frenchman is still continuing his career.

“Driving a rally car is magical for me. I get energy from the adrenaline I feel in the cockpit,” Ogier says.

“After many successful years, I enjoy this when I am competitive. Family is now a greater priority for me,” Ogier outlines.
