More Than Machine has attracted excellent viewing figures on YouTube and has received much praise. A behind-the-scenes glimpse of this kind has rarely been seen before.
Now the series has earned another accolade—it’s nominated in the “Best Documentary” category at The Race Media Awards.
Produced in collaboration by Superlative Studios and SafetyCulture Films, More Than Machine debuted last year on WRC’s YouTube channel. The documentary follows the M-Sport drivers, team bosses, and mechanics through the season’s highs and lows.
The series consisted of six episodes, drawing hundreds of thousands of viewers in total.
M-Sport team principal Richard Millener, who played a major role in the production, is understandably proud of the recognition the documentary is now receiving.
“Having More Than Machine recognised in this way is a fantastic achievement and goes to show how far-reaching we made the series, but also how captivating it can be for the audience to see the real stories behind running a WRC team. It’s been exciting and an adventure letting the cameras into our day-to-day lives, but with this nomination it has certainly been very worthwhile. I hope we can now bring home the award later this month,” Millener told the official WRC website.
Andrew van de Burgt, founder and CEO of The Race Media, was equally delighted with the high standard of the nominations.
“The quality and quantity of entries continues to rise and shows how vibrant the motorsport world is at the moment,” he said. “There are scores of brilliant people creating excellent work, and I’m delighted that we can play a role in celebrating this. I wish all of the shortlisted entrants the best of luck, and look forward to seeing the winners crowned in a few weeks’ time,” he said.
