Solberg once again drove to a convincing victory in Chile, at the same time securing the WRC2 title. The main goal of the season was therefore now achieved.

“Oh my God, I feel absolutely incredible. What should I say? I mean, I’m very overwhelmed. I still feel like I need to breathe,” Solberg raved after the rally.

“The whole season with five wins out of seven and a win in WRC. And yeah, me and Elliott have done not a bad job,” Solberg continued.

Solberg was able to seal the deal in South America. He also claimed a class win at Rally Paraguay at the end of August. In between the rallies, he went on holiday in Patagonia.

“South America is the best in the world. It’s beautiful. The fans are the best in the world—very passionate. Thank you for all your love,” Solberg expressed.

Solberg made it clear that the past three weeks will leave a lasting mark on him.

“We’ve had a fantastic three weeks here in Paraguay, Patagonia, and then coming to Chile. It’s been absolutely beautiful with, obviously, two rally wins. It’s just an incredible journey we’ve had over in South America. It couldn’t be better,” the Swede praised.

But Solberg could not have won without his co-driver Elliott Edmondson. The co-driver too was very happy and relieved that the season had received a worthy crown.

“Obviously, this was our goal at the start of the year, so to achieve this is massive for us. But yeah, like you said, there was another big achievement this year as well in Estonia when we won. So yeah, this is just the best year I think we could possibly imagine,” Edmondson raved.
