Earlier on Tuesday, it was confirmed that Solberg will compete in the WRC2 category next year with a Toyota GR Yaris Rally2 car run by Printsport.

In the recently concluded season, Sami Pajari drove Printsport’s Toyota, ultimately winning the WRC2 championship. Next year, Pajari will step up to the top tier of the World Rally Championship as a factory driver for Toyota’s WRC team.

Solberg’s arrival means Printsport once again has one of the WRC2 category’s top favourites in its ranks. This year, Solberg narrowly lost the championship battle to Pajari by just three points.

“We’re excited to welcome Oliver to our team and we’re very much looking forward to an exciting future. We believe the talent of Oliver and Elliott (co-driver Edmondson) will give us some thrilling moments in the sport and we expect a lot of great moments together,” Printsport team boss Eero Räikkönen enthused.

Solberg has set his sights on the WRC2 championship for the 2025 season. Räikkönen shares the same high ambitions.

“We will aim for the best results and a successful season – it’s going to be great to be able to build and share the journey towards new achievements,” Räikkönen stated.

Details of Solberg’s competition programme will be announced closer to the start of the season. The car’s livery will also be revealed later.

However, it is already clear that Solberg’s long-standing partnership with energy drink company Monster Energy will be featured on the Toyota Rally2 car.

“Bringing Monster Energy on board is always very important and I’m always extremely grateful for them following my journey and my story. It’s a journey we’ve had together for many years,” Solberg expressed his gratitude.

Solberg will compete as a client of Printsport, bringing sponsor funding to the team. At the same time, Solberg gains a direct link to Toyota’s WRC team, which works closely with Printsport.
