Joona, 29, has been a regular name in the WRC2 category in recent years. Last season, he completed a six-rally programme in the second tier of the championship and achieved his best result with fourth place at Rally Sweden.

Joona has now confirmed that he will continue in WRC2 and begin his WRC season at February’s snow-covered Rally Sweden. Before that, he will contest the opening round of the Finnish Rally Championship in Mikkeli on 17 January.

“I’m very grateful to all my partners and supporters who are with me again this season,” Joona wrote in his social media post.

At the same time, Joona revealed the livery of his car for 2026. Based on the image, Joona will continue competing with the familiar Skoda Fabia RS Rally2, but he will have a new co-driver beside him.

From now on, Antti Linnaketo will read the pace notes for Joona. Linnaketo has previously co-driven for the likes of Jari Huttunen, Niclas Grönholm, Eerik Pietarinen and Leevi Lassila.

Joona and Linnaketo already tested their partnership last October when they entered the Sanremo Rally together in Italy. The duo finished ninth in the legendary asphalt event.

Joona has set his goal of becoming a stronger asphalt driver. So far, the Finn has claimed two podium finishes in WRC2 – both achieved on gravel rallies.

Joona has competed regularly in the World Rally Championship since 2021. In 2022, he won the WRC3 title.
