Jürgenson, who won the Junior WRC title in the World Rally Championship last year, is competing in the WRC2 category this season. In addition, the 25-year-old prospect is gaining further experience in the British Rally Championship behind the wheel of an M-Sport Ford Fiesta Rally2.
On Saturday, Jürgenson delivered an impressive performance in the Kielder Carlisle Stages. The event, held in the border region between England and Scotland, featured five gravel stages – four of which were won by the Estonian.
He was involved in a close battle throughout the day with Ireland’s William Creighton. In the end, Jürgenson secured the victory by a margin of 14.4 seconds.
The result marked Jürgenson’s first win in the British series – and, in fact, his first overall rally victory at any level in his career.
“I’m really happy to be honest, it finally has all come together,” Jürgenson said with a smile.
“It’s a first-time victory and it is a really cool feeling. I have really enjoyed today, OK the morning was a bit annoying because of all the dust – I couldn’t enjoy it. The win feels amazing and hopefully, we can prove ourselves even more,” he added.
Jürgenson’s next event comes next week, when the World Rally Championship resumes on the asphalt roads of Gran Canaria.
His rally career began in 2022, when he won the FIA Rally Star programme – a global talent search that used a video game competition to discover new rally drivers.
