The city of Lamia has hosted the Acropolis Rally for the past five years. Next season, the event’s base will move further south to Loutraki, located on the coast of the Gulf of Corinth, around an hour’s drive from Athens.

Loutraki is not new to the World Rally Championship, having served as the centre of the legendary gravel event between 2009 and 2013. In recent years, several Acropolis Rally stages have also been held in the Loutraki region.

The move opens up new opportunities for route planning, while organisers aim to preserve the rally’s unique character by retaining several of the traditional Central Greece stages.

“When the WRC returned to Greece in 2021 for the Acropolis Rally, it was with the intention that the event could, from time to time, relocate to maximise its remarkable sporting heritage and the significant economic impact that a WRC round brings to each host country and region,” said Simon Larkin, senior director of events at WRC Promoter.

“Loutraki offers a rich variety of stage opportunities, easier access for new audiences, and additional tourism potential.”

Next year’s Greek WRC round will be the eighth event of the 2026 season, taking place from 25–28 June.
