This time, the team’s star driver Adrien Fourmaux appeared in front of the camera, presenting his racing gear and explaining its significance.
First up for presentation was the helmet, which recently received a slightly new colour scheme.
Naturally, the helmet features a microphone and headphones, allowing the driver to communicate with both the team and the co-driver.
However, in the video, Fourmaux particularly emphasises the importance of driving gloves. They must be of a very specific type.
“For us drivers, these are really important to ensure we get the best possible grip on the steering wheel,” Fourmaux explains, before going into further detail:
“They also need to fit so we can have the best possible feel for the steering wheel and steering sensitivity, as well as being able to use the gear lever and handbrake effectively,” Fourmaux says.
Driving shoes are also a carefully considered detail in the overall setup. The shoes must have sufficiently thin soles to provide a good feel for the pedals. Meanwhile, the overalls should be as light and comfortable as possible, but the fabric must also be breathable, as cars can become extremely hot, especially during summer rallies. Both the racing suit and the underwear worn underneath are, of course, fire-resistant.
