The organisers of Rally Finland announced today, Tuesday, that Richard Hammond, known from the programme Top Gear, will be coming to Finland in connection with the WRC rally.

Hammond will be attending the Spark the Future event, which focuses on the future of motorsport and mobility. This is the third time the event is being held.

The event will take place on Thursday of the rally week, 31 July. Hammond will be present to speak about new innovations, sustainable development, and responsibility in the world of motoring.

The event will be held at Rally Finland’s headquarters, Jyväskylä Paviljonki. Forum partners include the international governing body of motorsport, the FIA, and the WRC series promoter WRC Promoter GmbH, through its Beyond Rally programme that promotes wide-ranging development of responsibility in the rallying world.

“Secto Rally Finland are one of our standout partners in terms of their sustainable-first approach to their events, and we are therefore looking forward to aligning with them on their successful Spark the Future symposium to showcase our own sustainability efforts as well under the ever-growing Beyond Rally platform,” said WRC Promoter’s marketing director Arne Dirks in a Secto Rally Finland press release.

Richard Hammond is especially known for Top Gear and The Grand Tour. In recent years, he has contributed to the discussion around sustainable development through science and technology.

In his new programme Richard Hammond’s Workshop, he is building a vehicle restoration business based on the principles of sustainable development.

Entrepreneurship, innovation, and adaptability in a rapidly changing world will be central to the conversation.

“Richard Hammond brings a unique voice to the global sustainability conversation— someone who can connect with audiences far beyond the usual echo chambers,” said Secto Rally Finland’s promoter Tiina Lehmonen.

“We’re thrilled to welcome him for what promises to be a thought-provoking and inspiring discussion,” she added.

Rally Finland will take place this year from 31 July to 3 August.
