Korhonen’s management company Rautio Motorsport confirmed on Thursday that Korhonen will contest a full seven-round WRC2 programme in the 2026 season. His WRC campaign will begin in February at Rally Sweden, but even before that he will compete at the Arctic Lapland Rally at the end of January.
This season, Korhonen will drive a Toyota GR Yaris Rally2 run by the Printsport team. The team is now owned by Jari-Matti Latvala, who also serves as Toyota’s team principal. Latvala’s company acquired 100 per cent of Printsport’s shares late last year from the team’s founder, Eero Räikkönen.
Last season, Korhonen claimed his first WRC2 class victory in his home event in Finland. He has set ambitious targets for the upcoming year.
“It’s great that we’re able to contest a full WRC2 season with seven rallies. The obvious goal for the whole year is the championship, and the more familiar events provide a strong foundation for that. I believe that in all the rallies where we already have experience, we can fight for victory,” Korhonen said.
“Printsport have now won the WRC2 championship twice, and it’s great to be working with them. Thanks to Markku Rautio and all our partners for putting the whole package together,” the Finnish driver added.
Korhonen and Latvala went head-to-head at Rally Finland last summer, where the team boss had to concede defeat to the younger driver in the WRC2 fight for victory.

Latvala has strong faith in Korhonen’s potential.
“Last season marked positive development in Roope’s career, and the win in Jyväskylä in particular showed that he has the ability to handle pressure and step up when needed. He also has calmness, meaning all the qualities of a top driver are there. Heading into the 2026 season, I see that Roope has every opportunity to fight for the championship,” Latvala said.
“This is an important year for his career, and hopefully we can take another small step forward. In every rally, the key is to maintain performance throughout the event and in all conditions. Everything else he already has.”
