The Drift Masters series is familiar to Rovanperä from recent years. In the 2023 season, Rovanperä took part in three rounds of the European series.
Rovanperä will start in his Toyota Supra in the fifth round of this season in Hungary. The competition, held in Mariapocs, is scheduled for August 23-24.
Rovanperä has impressed with his drifting skills in Europe and Japan, but in the Drift Masters series, he has never quite reached the top battles in tandem drifting, although he has been able to score top points in qualifying.
The Finnish driver has recently been in excellent form behind the wheel. At the end of June, he won the Rally Poland , which he entered on short notice. The following weekend, he secured his first victory in the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux at the Imola circuit in Italy.
Last weekend, Rovanperä was on form in Latvia, where he again won a WRC round. Next week, Rovanperä will be chasing his first-ever win in the Rally Finland.
It is not yet known if Rovanperä will be taking a longer break from the World Rally Championship after the Finnish round. Following the Finnish gravel rally, the calendar still includes rounds in Greece, Chile, Central Europe, and Japan.
In the Porsche Cup, Rovanperä will compete in two more rounds this season: in Austria in September and in Belgium in October.
