The two-time World Rally Champion, Rovanperä, shared an intriguing image on his Instagram story on Monday. The picture displays an impressive line-up of Red Bull Racing’s Formula 1 cars. Rovanperä tagged the location as Red Bull Racing’s headquarters in Milton Keynes, England.

This year, Rovanperä has only competed in select WRC events, which has allowed him to also participate in circuit racing, such as the Porsche Carrera Cup. The Finnish star revealed earlier this summer that a test drive in a Formula 1 car could still happen before the end of this year.

The logical option for such a test would be Red Bull, as the energy drink company is also one of Rovanperä’s sponsors.

“Of course, it’s possible, and there have been some plans. Let’s put it this way – there have been plans to plan it for some time. However, nothing has been set in stone yet,” Toyota’s star driver Rovanperä said in July during Rally Latvia.

“The last time we talked about it was in the spring. We’ve been looking at how to make the calendars work so we could fit it in. Ideally, it would be done this year, but this year is also ending pretty quickly. Let’s see if it can still happen this year.”

While other WRC stars are currently recceing the special stages of Central European Rally, Rovanperä has a bit more free time. This has given him the opportunity, at the very least, to visit Red Bull’s facilities in England.

However, it remains unclear whether the visit is related to a potential Formula 1 test, or if Rovanperä is simply visiting the UK as a tourist.

Rovanperä’s last appearance in the WRC was at the end of September in Chile, where he claimed his fourth victory of the season. It is still uncertain whether he will compete in the season finale in Japan, which also serves as Toyota’s home event.
