Rovanperä will take part in the National Hivernal du Dévoluy rally, held in France next week. He will compete in the rally in a Toyota Rally1 car, alongside his co-driver Jonne Halttunen.

Rovanperä is thus beginning his preparations for the 2025 season. Next year, Rovanperä will return full-time to the World Rally Championship (WRC) and will compete in all 14 rounds of the championship.

The 24-year-old Finn only participated in a half-season of the WRC in the recently concluded year. Additionally, he competed in the Porsche Carrera Benelux series and even had the opportunity to test Red Bull’s older Formula 1 car.

The Hivernal du Dévoluy rally will also feature Frenchman Adrien Fourmaux, who is set to make his debut in Hyundai’s Rally1 car. Hyundai announced on Thursday that Fourmaux will compete in a full WRC season with Hyundai next year.

Fourmaux made his breakthrough in the WRC last season. Competing with M-Sport’s Ford, the Frenchman impressively secured five podium finishes during the season.

Before the French event, Rovanperä and Fourmaux will both participate in Italy’s Monza Rally Show. At Monza, Fourmaux will still be driving M-Sport’s car, marking his farewell to his former employer.

The Hivernal du Dévoluy rally takes place next Saturday and Sunday. The event features a total of ten special stages, with the combined stage distance amounting to slightly over 139 kilometres.

The new WRC season kicks off in January with the traditional season-opener, Rally Monte Carlo.
