The governing body confirmed that French company TotalEnergies will continue as the sole supplier of sustainable fuel in the WRC for the next three years.

TotalEnergies has been supplying fuel to the championship since Rally Islas Canarias in April, following the collapse of the previous supplier P1 Performance Fuels.

According to the FIA’s announcement, TotalEnergies will provide Excellium Rally AS fuel for the next three seasons – a 100% advanced sustainable fuel made from non-food biomass.

This next-generation fuel will be mandatory for all FIA priority competitors and will be available to non-priority crews as well, aiming to make the championship more sustainable without compromising performance.

“TotalEnergies presented a highly compelling proposal during the tender process that met all our targets across performance, sustainability, and reliability. With a proven track record in other FIA championships, they are well placed to support the WRC through its next chapter,” said Emilia Abel, FIA road sport director.

“Sustainability is central to the FIA’s vision for the future of motor sport, and the continued use of sustainable fuel in the WRC reinforces the championship’s position as a pioneer in sustainable innovation at the highest level of competition.”
