It was confirmed earlier on Tuesday that Sesks will compete in the Chilean gravel rally in a Ford Puma, which this time will not feature a hybrid unit. Sesks previously drove the Puma in the WRC rounds of Poland and Latvia earlier this summer, impressing the rally community with his performances.

Now, Sesks faces a leap into the unknown. While he was very familiar with the challenges and fast gravel roads of Poland and his home rally in Latvia, Chile presents an entirely new experience for him.

Sesks left a strong impression on M-Sport’s team principal Richard Millener in his last two rallies. M-Sport and the WRC Promoter are now enabling the Latvian to take part in a third round in the top class of the WRC.

“This will undoubtedly be a challenging event, completely different from the previous ones,” Millener emphasises.

Sesks is not facing high expectations this time, but on the other hand, he now has a real opportunity to showcase his skills.

“With no prior experience on this tricky rally, it’s no easy task, but it’s a great opportunity for him to showcase his versatility and further establish himself as a future talent. We hope this experience will bolster his ambition to become a regular name in the Rally1 class,” Millener says.

M-Sport has brought several talents to the top of the rallying world. Sesks is another intriguing name when thinking about the future of the WRC.

“It’s fantastic to be working with Martins again. His performances in Poland and Latvia impressed a lot of people and I’m very proud that the WRC Promoter, his sponsors and M-Sport can offer him another opportunity to develop his skills in Rally1 machinery,” says M-Sport founder and CEO Malcolm Wilson.

“We’ve done a lot over the years to support upcoming drivers, and I think Martins has already shown he can be part of this next generation of top-level drivers.”

Sesks will turn 25 on 18 September. The Rally Chile starts eight days later.
