The Latvian sensation was in a league of his own at the Rally Aluksne, a round of the Latvian and Estonian rally championships, held in Latvia over the weekend. Sesks claimed victory by an impressive margin of nearly two and a half minutes over runner-up Emils Blums.
Sesks dominated the event from start to finish. Over Friday and Saturday, competitors tackled a total of eight special stages, and Sesks set the fastest time on every single one.
Competing in a Skoda Fabia SRT Proto – a car modified by the SRT team from a Skoda Rally2 – Sesks showcased his skill and preparation.
“We won all eight stages. We thoroughly enjoyed the challenging winter conditions in Aluksne and the first rally of the season. Truly a fantastic start to the 2025 motorsport season,” Sesks enthused.
“This was a great opportunity for us to get back into rhythm after the winter break. I hope the rest of the season continues just as it has begun,” Sesks added.
Sesks made his breakthrough in the World Rally Championship last year, competing in three events with M-Sport’s Ford Puma Rally1 car. He was even in contention for a podium finish at his home rally in Latvia, but a technical issue on the final stage dropped him from the top positions.
Sesks has yet to announce his competition programme for this year. However, RallyJournal.com understands that the Latvian sensation is set to compete in the top class of the WRC. It appears likely that he will take part in the Rally Sweden in February.
