Already last season, the Latvian impressed driving M-Sport Ford’s Rally1 car, and he has another packed programme this year. Sesks is expected to drive at least six WRC events in M-Sport’s top-class car.
The season began on the snowy roads of Sweden, and next up is Rally Portugal in May. In addition, Sesks is scheduled to compete in Sardinia, Greece, Estonia, and Finland.
The busy calendar once again means that the young Latvian will have to skip summer holidays.
“I can’t remember a single summer that’s been completely free for me,” Sesks told the Estonian newspaper Postimees.
“Even if I wasn’t so visibly active, summer has always been a good time to work and develop. So once again this year, summer will be the time when we continue working to become even better,” Sesks added.
To prepare for Rally Portugal, Sesks already competed in March at the Fafe Rally, held in the same area as the WRC event. As the name suggests, the rally included stages that will also feature in the main WRC event after mid-May.
“Every time you sit in a car, it’s good preparation for everything. It doesn’t even have to be a rally car, as long as you keep the feeling. We have competed in Rally Portugal before. If you get the chance to drive on the same stages before the actual event, it helps massively,” Sesks previewed.
Sesks has a clear goal for this year.
“Expectations vary from rally to rally. The most important thing is that I want to finish every event,” Sesks firmly stated.
