The previous WRC round only concluded in Sardinia last Sunday, but the factory teams in the championship have continued working at full throttle to be as prepared as possible for the Acropolis Rally, which will be held on the last weekend of June.

Kalle Rovanperä opened the test sessions this week in the Toyota camp, while Thierry Neuville did the same for Hyundai. Hyundai then brought in Estonian star Ott Tänak for the following test day.

Among Hyundai’s drivers, Tänak holds the best position in the championship, currently fourth overall. He trails the championship leader, Elfyn Evans, by 25 points. Tänak will benefit from a favourable starting position for the Greek rally, and in the Hyundai camp, hopes are high that Toyota’s six-rally winning streak can finally be broken.

Following Rovanperä, Toyota also had championship leader Evans and Finnish driver Sami Pajari complete their own test runs.
