Solberg was in a league of his own on the snowy Swedish roads, beating Finland’s Roope Korhonen by 42.5 seconds. Mikko Heikkilä, who finished third, trailed Solberg by well over a minute.

After crossing the finish line, Solberg was not only happy but also relieved. This year’s Rally Sweden was more challenging for him in many ways compared to last year.

“It’s been a very nervous weekend, both with the new tyres and the car,” Solberg admitted.

“I was confident before the weekend, but also more nervous than usual. But, I had a good feeling from the start, and I just tried to maintain the same pace throughout the weekend,” he added.

Roope Korhonen showed clear improvement from his performance at the Arctic Lapland Rally and was satisfied with his weekend.

“Oliver was fast, and we knew that already before the rally. He was quick here last year as well. Our goal was to finish on the podium, and we aimed for that. We achieved it, so I’m really happy with the result,” Korhonen summed up.

Mikko Heikkilä was pleased with his performance but not entirely satisfied with his final position.

“Finishing third wasn’t the goal. When you’re competing against Oliver, second place is always a good target. We weren’t too far off, and we got really good points,” Heikkilä reflected.
