WRC teams are heading to the legendary Monza Circuit next week to take part in the Monza Rally Show, an iconic event celebrating the conclusion of the season.
The event will also mark the end of Pirelli’s tenure as the WRC tyre supplier. From next season onwards, Hankook will take over as the official supplier.
Hyundai’s WRC team will bring newly crowned world champion Thierry Neuville, who will showcase the Hyundai i20 N Rally1 on the famous Italian motorsport track. Joining him will be Spanish veteran Dani Sordo.
Toyota’s line-up is equally impressive, featuring Kalle Rovanperä, Sebastien Ogier, and Sami Pajari. Even Toyota team principal Jari-Matti Latvala will don his race suit to drive in Italy.
M-Sport’s Adrien Fourmaux will also take part, driving a Ford Puma Rally1.
The WRC stars will take to the track over three days, from 6–8 December. The first two days will focus on demonstrations, giving the drivers a chance to entertain fans and VIP guests with thrilling rides.
The event’s highlight will be Sunday’s Master’s Show, where drivers will finally race head-to-head. This will include a much-anticipated duel between freshly crowned champion Neuville and two-time title holder Rovanperä.
Rovanperä will also keep busy before Monza, as he’s set to compete this weekend in the Killarney Historic Rally in Ireland, driving a high-powered Toyota Starlet.
Monza previously hosted WRC rounds in 2020 and 2021. During the Monza Rally Show, a full rally will also take place, featuring nine special stages and over 150 kilometres of competitive action on the circuit and surrounding areas.
