The Estonian is already 33.6 seconds behind the leader. However, the good news for him is that his teammate Thierry Neuville remains behind.

The gap between Tänak and Neuville before the final day is 10.1 seconds. If these results hold, Tänak would close the gap in the drivers’ championship against Neuville.

However, that is not Tänak’s primary focus.

“The Drivers Championship is the second priority at the moment. It’s more the manufacturers where Toyota have done a good job today. So yeah, we need to do well tomorrow as well,” Tänak commented.

Saturday in Chile saw extreme conditions. Thick fog made driving almost impossible and dangerous.

“It was pretty extreme at times. The fog seemed to settle quite quickly,” Tänak said.

“We were first told it would start after six or seven kilometers, but it was there from the first kilometer. So it seemed to change a lot,” Tänak added.
