Zaldivar announced on his social media this week that he will participate in the WRC2 category, running a full seven-event programme with the Toksport team. He will be driving the team’s top-tier car, the Skoda Fabia RS Rally2.
“With great pride and excitement, I want to share with you that in 2025 I will once again compete in the World Rally Championship, proudly representing Paraguay. I will join the Toksport team to contest a seven-event programme in the WRC2 category, driving a Skoda Fabia RS,” Zaldivar said.
“Returning to this team, where I had the opportunity to compete back in 2021, is a great honour. Today, I come back with more experience, more knowledge, and high expectations for what we can achieve together.”
Zaldivar began his rallying career at just 15 years old in his home country. In 2019, he competed in WRC events for the first time, driving a two-wheel-drive car. While he holds South American rally titles, his best WRC result so far is fourth place in the 2022 WRC2 Junior category with Hyundai.
Last year, Zaldivar finished 11th in the WRC2 standings, with top-five finishes in Portugal, Latvia, and Greece.
The Paraguayan driver will begin his 2025 WRC season in February at Rally Sweden.
