Earlier in the autumn, Rovanperä announced that he would step aside from the World Rally Championship after this season to chase his next dream on circuit racing.
The season finale begins on Wednesday in Saudi Arabia. Rovanperä still carries high stakes in the event, as he has a theoretical chance of winning the title.
To mark the final rally for Rovanperä and co-driver Jonne Halttunen, the roof of their Rally1 car has been given a special livery. It features an incredible thank-you message from Toyota’s WRC team, listing the names of all the members of the squad. The unique design also includes numerous images from the careers of Rovanperä and Halttunen.
Co-driver Halttunen captured the message digitally on Tuesday evening during the WRC parade held in Jeddah.

Halttunen published the video and photos on Instagram.
Rally Saudi Arabia begins on Wednesday, with the shakedown in the morning and the opening super special stage in the evening in Jeddah.
Rovanperä is third in the championship standings behind his team-mates Elfyn Evans and Sebastien Ogier. The Toyota driver is 24 points adrift of the lead, which means that to take the title, both Evans and Ogier would need to encounter problems in Saudi Arabia.
