The 18-year-old has confirmed that he will contest the iconic Rally Monte Carlo in a Toyota GR Yaris Rally2. He also competed in the event last year, though on that occasion he drove a front-wheel-drive Opel Corsa in the Rally4 class.
Eliott Delecour is the son of French rally legend François Delecour. The elder Delecour claimed four World Rally Championship event wins during his career and finished runner-up in the 1993 standings behind the wheel of a Ford.
Last season, Eliott Delecour competed mainly in France’s gravel and asphalt rally series with a Rally4 car. Towards the end of the year, he tackled one rally in a Citroën Rally2 car and another in Hyundai’s Rally2 machine.
He has not previously competed with Toyota’s Rally2 machinery. The Toyota GR Yaris Rally2 has already proven its competitiveness in the WRC2 category, with Sami Pajari winning the title in 2024 and Oliver Solberg doing the same this year.
Delecour will run the car with Italian outfit Delta Rally. His co-driver will be the experienced Sabrina De Castelli, who partnered François Delecour in events such as the 2023 Rally Monte Carlo.
Rally Monte Carlo will take place from 22–25 January. The entry list for the event will be published one week from Monday.
