Neuville has driven almost his entire career with Hyundai, and this season he is seriously competing for his first world championship.

However, Neuville’s future is still uncertain at the moment.

“To be quite honest, I haven’t started negotiations for a new contract yet”, Neuville told RallyJournal.com.

Neuville will turn 37 during the next season. Despite his age, the veteran still has the passion and desire to compete at the highest level.

“My intention is to carry on. At the moment, it’s still a bit strange situation. I mean, we have no official confirmation from Hyundai yet. I believe that I will continue in WRC”, Neuville continued.

Neuville hinted that contract negotiations could be just around the corner.

“I expect to continue, and I think we can start discussions about the future. Right now, however, I don’t know anything about my contract or its length,” Neuville stated.

Neuville moved up to the main class of the World Rally Championship in the 2012 season. In the 2013 season, he drove Ford’s WRC car and secured the runner-up position in the championship, finishing behind the dominant champion Sebastien Ogier.

He switched to Hyundai the following season and has represented the team ever since. The Belgian achieved his first victory in the 2014 Rally Germany.
