Rovanperä, Evans, Neuville, Tänak and Latvala – rally stars to thrill the massive crowd in England

The stars of the World Rally Championship will get a chance to showcase their skills in the UK this weekend.

The traditional Goodwood Festival of Speed kicks off on Thursday in southern England, near the town of Chichester. All the WRC teams will be represented at the event, which draws huge crowds every year.

From Toyota’s line-up, Kalle Rovanperä and current championship leader Elfyn Evans will entertain fans in the team’s Rally1 car on Thursday and Friday. Takamoto Katsuta and Toyota test driver Juho Hänninen will take over driving duties on Saturday and Sunday.

Toyota’s team principal Jari-Matti Latvala will also be back behind the wheel at Goodwood. He will drive both a Toyota Rally2 car and his own Toyota Celica, which he has campaigned in the European Historic Rally Championship.

From Hyundai, reigning world champion Thierry Neuville and Ott Tänak will be in action on Thursday and Friday with the i20 N Rally1 car. Spanish veteran Dani Sordo will also make a return to the wheel of Hyundai’s Rally1 machine when he drives over the weekend.

Grégoire Munster and Josh McErlean will represent M-Sport at Goodwood in the Ford Puma Rally1 car.

After Goodwood, the rally stars will head to Estonia, where the next round of the WRC season will take place next week. The recce for Estonia’s fast gravel rally begins on Tuesday.

Rally Estonia officially gets underway on Thursday, with a shakedown stage in the morning and the ceremonial opening stage held in Tartu that evening.
