Ogier is once again contesting a partial WRC season with Toyota this year. Despite skipping two rounds earlier in the year, the French star currently sits second in the championship standings at the halfway point of the season.
It was already known that Ogier would skip the upcoming Rally Estonia in two weeks. But at the turn of July and August, he’ll be back in action on the high-speed gravel roads of Central Finland.
Following last weekend’s Acropolis Rally in Greece, Ogier remained tight-lipped about his upcoming plans. But on Wednesday, he confirmed via social media that he’s added Rally Finland to his calendar.
“I have a little news for you. My summer will actually not be as free as initially planned. For a little while, I’ve been thinking that doing Rally Finland again would be something nice, as obviously last year it was a great rally for me with my second win,” Ogier said.
“I mentioned to the team some time ago that maybe we could add Rally Finland to the list and try to have some fun on these beautiful roads. So, I’ll be at the start in four weeks.”
Even though Ogier is skipping Estonia, he remains firmly in the fight for a record-extending ninth drivers’ title. He is just nine points behind his teammate Elfyn Evans, who leads the championship.
