Cachón attempted to make a breakthrough in WRC2 during the 2023 season, but the Spaniard did not achieve great success. His best result was a tenth-place finish in the WRC2 competition at the Acropolis Rally in Greece.
Last year, Cachón competed as an official Toyota driver in the Spanish Super Championship, where he also claimed the title. Cachón was in excellent form with the Toyota GR Yaris Rally2, securing four victories and finishing on the podium in every event.
The Toyota Gazoo Racing team in Spain has now confirmed that Cachón will be aiming for success in the WRC2 series this year. Cachón has a full programme of seven rounds ahead of him.
Cachón, 26, will start his season at the new WRC event, Rally Islas Canarias, which is scheduled for the end of April. Last year, Cachón finished third in the event when it was part of the European Rally Championship. Without a puncture, he could have even won the ERC round.
“This year, we have the opportunity to succeed there. But we have a lot to learn this season, even though I competed in the WRC two years ago,” Cachón said.

Cachón will be run by the Spanish team Teo Martín Motorsport, which also includes another Spanish driver, Jan Solans. Solans will start his season in two weeks at Safari Rally Kenya.
Cachón’s calendar will also include Rally Portugal. The team will decide on the rest of his programme later in the season.
