Initially, the organizers announced a delay due to a spectator-related reason. Around ten minutes after the original start time, it was officially announced that the stage would not be run at all.
It appears that a spectator was injured along the stage route prior to the start. An ambulance was dispatched to the scene.
Competitors are now taking an alternate route to reach the sixth stage. After the final morning stage, they’ll head to midday service.
The rally is currently led by Toyota’s Elfyn Evans, followed by Hyundai’s Thierry Neuville and teammate Sebastien Ogier. The top three are separated by just four seconds.
Four more stages are scheduled for Friday. The rally concludes on Sunday.
