Johansson impressed in the recently concluded European Rally Championship season, clinching the junior category title with an Opel Corsa Rally4. Alongside the junior crown, he also secured the ERC4 two-wheel-drive championship.

The young Swede also showcased his talent on the world stage by dominating the Junior WRC category at his home event, Rally Sweden, driving a Ford Fiesta Rally3.

Next year, Johansson will take another big step in his career. At just 19 years old, he will compete in a full season of the JWRC with a Ford Rally3, while also tackling six events in the ERC with a Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo.

That’s not all – Johansson will also gain additional experience in the Italian Gravel Rally Championship with the Skoda. Italian team MS Munaretto will run his programme in both Italy and the ERC’s top category.

Johansson’s partnership with the Italian team has already begun, as he competed in Rally del Brunello last weekend, finishing an impressive third overall and narrowly missing out on the Rally2 category win by less than a second.

Next year promises plenty of seat time for Johansson.

“It feels great to take the step up to Rally2 already next year, and to do it with MS Munaretto, a team we’ve been in contact with over the past year. Our main focus is the Junior WRC, but between those events, we want to get as much seat time as possible, which we’ll do with the help of our new team and Pirelli,” Johansson said enthusiastically.

“We have a packed schedule for 2025 beyond the Junior WRC, and that’s all about being well-prepared for 2026.”

Johansson has big plans for his future. Next year offers a significant opportunity that could lead to even greater prospects.

“Next year will be a learning year, where we’ll focus on learning Rally2 on both gravel and tarmac, with our sights set on the Junior WRC title. This is an incredible opportunity, and we’re going to make the most of it, gaining as much experience as possible,” Johansson explained.
