Neuville capped off his long career by clinching the WRC title this year. The 36-year-old Belgian had come close to the crown multiple times but finally achieved his dream.

Neuville will continue as a Hyundai driver next season, but beyond 2025, his future in the sport remains uncertain.

In late summer, Neuville signed a contract extension with Hyundai, surprisingly only for one year. Reportedly, the deal includes options for additional years, but the short-term nature of the agreement sparked speculation: could Neuville’s stellar career conclude after 2025?

The world champion addressed his future plans in an interview with Belgian broadcaster RTBF, firmly dismissing the rumours.

“I’m not ready to hang up my helmet. We often talk about the Dakar Rally, which really tempts me. But before that, I still have a great career ahead in rallying. I want to stay in the sport for now,” Neuville confirmed.

“After that, Dakar is certainly intriguing, and then there are races like the 24 Hours of Nürburgring or the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, where I get invited to participate every year. I’ve always had to say no. But once I stop rallying, I’d love to take part in those iconic events.”

Neuville’s co-driver, Martijn Wydaeghe, hinted at future plans of working in management and mentoring young drivers. Neuville smiled at Wydaeghe’s aspirations.

“Not too soon, though – I’ll still need him for a few more years,” Neuville laughed.
