The Japanese driver had lived in Jyväskylä for years, but now his residence has changed. Katsuta left Central Finland behind and moved to Monaco, joining many other sports stars.
The major life change has gone relatively smoothly, as Katsuta’s good friend Kalle Rovanperä also resides in Monaco.
“It has been quite okay. Kalle put me there,” Katsuta laughed in an interview with RallyJournal.com.
However, Katsuta admitted openly that he will miss Finland and Jyväskylä. The Japanese driver had already settled well into life in Finland.
“Now a new life has begun. But I lived in Jyväskylä for nine years, so of course, I also felt a bit of sadness. It was really nice there, and I liked the place a lot.”
“Of course, I will still visit several times a year to meet the team, so everything is quite okay,” Katsuta explained.
Katsuta and Rovanperä have already had the chance to spend time together in Monaco. They also have many shared rally trips ahead during the year.
“We have managed to go out for dinner. We will probably also travel a lot together this year since we compete in the same rallies,” Katsuta said.
Katsuta and Rovanperä will compete in Rally Sweden this weekend.
