The new WRC season is fast approaching, with reconnaissance for the season-opening Rally Monte Carlo set to begin in just over a week. Toyota has become the first WRC team to reveal the livery for its Rally1 car for the upcoming season.

Toyota has made no significant changes to the livery of its GR Yaris Rally1 car, sticking to its trusted black design for the 2025 season.

The Rally1 cars themselves have undergone changes since last year, as hybrid units are no longer being utilised. This means the cars have less power than in previous seasons, but they are also slightly lighter.

Toyota has four full-season drivers this year. The team’s lead driver, Kalle Rovanperä, will compete in every round after a lighter schedule last year. Elfyn Evans, Takamoto Katsuta, and Sami Pajari will also contest all WRC rounds alongside Rovanperä, while Sebastien Ogier will take part in selected events.

All five Toyota drivers will be in action at the season opener in Rally Monte Carlo. A total of ten Rally1 crews will compete in the event.

Last year, Toyota clinched the manufacturers’ championship after an intense battle with Hyundai that went down to the final special stage of the season. The drivers’ title, however, went to Hyundai for the first time, with Thierry Neuville claiming the crown at the end of the season.

Rally Monte Carlo will take place from 23 to 26 January.
