The new season gets under way next week with the iconic Rally Monte Carlo. WRC teams have carried out thorough preparations for the opening round and have also introduced updates to their cars.
Toyota has confirmed that it has made use of its homologation jokers for the final season of the current Rally1 regulations. The team has focused its development work on the aerodynamics and suspension of the Toyota GR Yaris Rally1.
As already seen during the pre-event tests for Monte Carlo, updates have been made to Toyota’s rear wing. The new rear wing will be used by Sébastien Ogier, Elfyn Evans and Oliver Solberg in the season-opening rally. The same trio will represent Toyota’s works team in the manufacturers’ championship in France.

Takamoto Katsuta and Sami Pajari will run the rear wing specification familiar from last season in Monte Carlo.
Toyota was dominant in its battle against Hyundai last season. Out of the 14 WRC rounds, no fewer than 12 ended in victory for Toyota. The Japanese manufacturer secured the manufacturers’ title by a clear margin, while the team also locked out the top three positions in the drivers’ championship with Ogier, Evans and Kalle Rovanperä.
Rally Monte Carlo begins on Thursday, 22 January.
