The World Rallycross calendar was already presented once at the end of last year, but it has seen major changes since, as the rights to the entire series were up for sale at the beginning of the year. Eventually, the International Automobile Federation (FIA) took over the promotion of the sport itself. However, the calendar still requires approval from the World Motor Sport Council.

From the calendar presented late last year, the rounds in Canada, Australia, and Great Britain have been dropped. The published calendar now includes only six events in the World Championship. The rallycross season kicks off in Montalegre, Portugal, at the turn of May and June. After that, races will be held in Sweden and Hungary in July, and in Finland at the KymiRing circuit in August.

Representatives of KymiRing stated last September that they had signed a long-term contract with the promoter of the World Rallycross Championship. The circuit has faced various issues in recent years, and it is not yet known how many seasons the new contract will cover at the sport’s top level.

The penultimate round of the season will take place in Turkey in September. The final event of the year is marked on the calendar, but the organiser and date are yet to be confirmed.

The first five rounds of the World Championship will also make up the European Rallycross Championship for 2025.

“The World RX and Euro RX Championships have immense potential, and the FIA´s direct investment ensures we can deliver a truly world-class product for competitors, sponsors and fans. With a strong foundation both iconic rallycross venues plus new emerging venues, we look forward to see a new era of rallycross unfold in 2025,” commented FIA’s Emilia Abel.

Last year, Swedish driver Johan Kristoffersson once again claimed the World Rallycross Championship title. He now has seven titles to his name.
