The calendar is expanding, with a total of 14 rounds next season. The last time the WRC had more rounds was in 2008.
There are three entirely new rounds on next year’s calendar, as previously reported. The asphalt rally in the Canary Islands will be held at the end of April, the gravel rally in Paraguay at the end of August, and the season will conclude in Saudi Arabia at the end of November.
The first three rounds of 2025 are the same as this year. The first points are up for grabs in the iconic Rally Monte Carlo, followed by the Swedish winter rally. The Safari Rally in Kenya will once again be held in March.
After the new Canary Islands event, there will be seven consecutive gravel rallies in the WRC: Rally Portugal in May, the Sardinian and Greek rounds in June, the returning Rally Estonia in July, the Finnish and Paraguayan rounds in August, and the Rally Chile in mid-September.
Towards the end of the season, there will be the Central European Rally and Rally Japan before the historic first WRC round in Saudi Arabia.
Croatia, Poland, and Latvia, which were part of this year’s schedule, will not be included in next year’s calendar.
“This is a hugely exciting calendar which perfectly blends our traditional rallies with three exciting new challenges, two of which are outside of Europe, highlighting once again the global appeal of our championship,” WRC Promoter’s Managing Director Jona Siebel said.
There are still five rounds left in the 2024 WRC season, with the next one starting on Thursday in Finland.
