In 2014, Greensmith won the Junior BRC. That same year, he participated in his first World Rally Championship event in Wales, driving a front-wheel-drive Ford Fiesta.
During 2015-16, he competed in the Drive Dmack Cup but did not achieve any class victories. The Brit drove a four-wheel-drive Fiesta in the R5 category for the first time at the Wales WRC event in the fall of 2016.
Coming from a wealthy oil family, Greensmith drove for M-Sport Ford in the WRC2 class during 2017-18, achieving four podium finishes. In 2019, Greensmith claimed his first victories in the championship in the new WRC2 Pro class, finishing third in the end-of-year standings.
Alongside the WRC2 Pro class, Greensmith competed in three WRC events in a Ford WRC car, the first two of which ended in retirements. He crossed the finish line in a WRC car for the first time in Germany, finishing ninth. Greensmith’s first full season in a WRC car was the pandemic-shortened year of 2020. It was a challenging debut year, with his best result being fifth place in the Turkish WRC.
In 2021, Greensmith showed improved pace, though fastest times and podium finishes still eluded the Brit. He finished fourth in Kenya and fifth in both Greece and Portugal.
The year 2022 brought Greensmith his first two fastest stage times in the championship, but despite a reasonable start to the year, the rest of the season was fraught with difficulties on the special stages.
In 2023, Greensmith is driving in the WRC2 class with a Skoda, marking the first time he competes in equipment other than Ford’s.
