After Rally Paraguay, Pajari confirmed he would be going on holiday to the United States. According to information obtained by RallyJournal.com, both Pajari and Rovanperä will holiday in Florida before heading to Chile.
One of the main purposes of the trip is, of course, to help both body and mind get used to the time difference. Travelling back to Europe in between would not make much sense precisely because of the time difference.
“That was the main idea – that we stay in the same time zone. And maybe it’s also nice for me to explore a bit of the place, maybe where we’ll have an event soon. So I want to see what the country looks like,” Pajari said.
Pajari already had some holiday plans lined up.
“I think there’s a baseball game we were looking forward to – it’ll be cool to have a look at that,” Pajari revealed.
Baseball is a rather unfamiliar sport for Finns, but of course, Finns have their own equivalent: pesäpallo, the Finnish variant of baseball.
“We played that quite a lot in school, but not so much in the last couple of years,” Pajari laughed.
Rovanperä’s holiday plans were not revealed in more detail. On Instagram he only said he was relaxing and then continuing his preparations for Rally Chile.
Many other WRC drivers are also keeping within the same time zone. Hyundai’s Adrien Fourmaux is going on holiday to Peru, while Oliver Solberg said he is heading to Patagonia, at the southern tip of South America.
Like Fourmaux, many co-drivers – among them Rovanperä’s co-driver Jonne Halttunen – headed towards Peru for a trekking trip.
