Tänak was in a class of his own on the rough gravel stages. The Estonian Hyundai star avoided major issues and maintained a clearly superior pace throughout the weekend. As a result, Tänak, co-driver Martin Järveoja and Hyundai were able to celebrate their first win of the season.

In the World Rally Championship standings, Tänak has surged up to third place. He now sits just 12 points behind series leader Elfyn Evans, firmly placing him in contention for a second career title.

Tänak has been in outstanding form in recent rallies. He finished second in both Portugal and Sardinia, and now finally secured the top spot in Greece.

Evans saw his championship lead shrink significantly after finishing fourth in Greece. The Welshman dropped out of the fight for victory early on Friday as he was the first car on the road, sweeping the loose gravel.

Toyota part-time driver Sébastien Ogier finished second in Greece and picked up nearly as many points as Tänak, thanks to topping both Super Sunday and the Power Stage. Ogier remains second in the championship, just nine points adrift of Evans.

Among the other title contenders, Kalle Rovanperä had to settle for four Power Stage points in Greece. The Finnish Toyota ace retired from the rally on Saturday following an off-road excursion.

Defending world champion Thierry Neuville finished fifth in Greece after suffering multiple punctures. He remains fifth in the championship, but the gap to the front has widened. As a result, a second title for Neuville now appears increasingly unlikely.
