For the 2025 WRC season, Toyota will continue with the same drivers as this year, but Sami Pajari will now contest the entire season with the team.
In addition to Pajari, Elfyn Evans, Takamoto Katsuta, and Kalle Rovanperä will compete in all rounds, while Sebastien Ogier will participate in selected events.
“It’s really exciting to remain with TOYOTA GAZOO Racing for 2025. We have already had five very fantastic seasons together with a lot of victories and success and I’m really looking forward to continuing this story,” Ogier said.
“Once again my main goal is to give my support to the team in the manufacturers’ championship in a partial programme, and hopefully we can manage to win all three titles,” he added.
Takamoto Katsuta faced a challenging season but managed to end on a positive note. He finished fourth at his home rally in Japan and helped his team secure the manufacturers’ championship. This gives him confidence heading into next year.
“It has been a challenging season for me this year, and I want to thank the team and everyone who has been supporting me in the difficult moments. I feel I have shown my speed on most of the rallies, so the confidence is growing and I just need to find the right rhythm through every rally: this is my main target next year,” Katsuta stated.
Elfyn Evans was expected to step into the championship fight this year with Kalle Rovanperä not running a full schedule. However, Evans fell short of his best form and was effectively out of contention after Rally Finland.
“Season 2024 could have been even more successful, I know that there’s still a lot of potential in the team and I feel I have plenty more to give as well,” Evans said.
Evans ended his season on a high note, claiming victory in Japan and securing second place in the final championship standings.
“So I’m looking forward to continuing our partnership. We know that we need to keep working hard together and hopefully we can achieve more good results in the future,” Evans concluded.
