Neuville’s long-held dream finally came true when he celebrated his championship title at the end of the 2024 season. The Hyundai star secured the title at the season finale in Japan.

It’s now been almost two months since that moment, giving Neuville time to reflect.

“We’ve had the time to reflect, party, and celebrate. It’s obviously great, and it feels like a weight has been lifted off our shoulders,” Neuville told RallyJournal.com.

The Belgian had previously finished as runner-up in the championship five times.

“We feel a bit less pressure, but now we’re already preparing for 2025. A new season will start very soon -with zero points on the counter, everyone will begin on equal footing. New challenges are ahead, and I’m looking forward to them,” Neuville said.

The 2025 WRC season kicks off with the legendary Rally Monte-Carlo this week. Last season, Neuville won the event, earning the maximum 30 points, and maintained his lead in the standings for the rest of the season.

Before testing for Monte Carlo, Neuville had a brief break to relax.

“It was definitely important. Last season has been very demanding and challenging, but also very busy with a lot of rallies and testing.”

“But a new season is coming. It’s going to be even busier with 14 rounds and a couple of new ones as well. Basically, the summer break doesn’t exist anymore, and the winter break is only very short for us,” Neuville explained.

Next season introduces three new rallies to the WRC calendar: the Canary Islands, Paraguay, and Saudi Arabia.

The Rally Monte-Carlo is scheduled for 23–26 January.
