Ogier moved to the top of the tarmac competition on Sunday morning, benefiting from mistakes by his team-mate Elfyn Evans and Hyundai’s Thierry Neuville. Ogier holds a 6.4-second lead over Evans before the rally-concluding Power Stage.

Ogier had a minor incident on the penultimate stage, but the French driver managed to escape with just a scare.

“We did a mistake again in this stage. I understeered two corners at the start and hit a bank,” Ogier reported.

Hyundai’s Thierry Neuville was leading after Saturday, but on Sunday’s second stage, he damaged his car. The Belgian can no longer challenge Toyota’s leading duo in the event.

“I can’t do more, the car is undriveable without the rear wing and also no hybrid,” Neuville stated.

Day-specific results on Sunday lead to separate points being awarded. Toyota’s Takamoto Katsuta has been the fastest driver on the final day, securing a seven-point haul. Hyundai’s Ott Tänak is 4.7 seconds behind the Japanese before the last special stage.

One more special stage will be run in the Croatia Rally on Sunday. The rally-ending Power Stage starts at 13:15 (CET).
