After the end of last season, Bulacia decided to swap his Skoda Rally2 car for a Citroën C3 Rally2. In December, it was announced that Bulacia would become an official Citroën driver, like Yohan Rossel and Nikolay Gryazin.

Bulacia, 23, started his season a couple of weeks ago at the Rally de Portugal, having warmed up with two events in the Portuguese Rally Championship in a Citroën. However, during the WRC round in Portugal, Bulacia retired on the first proper day of driving due to a steering failure in his Citroën.

Bulacia was also entered in the next WRC round in Sardinia with Citroën, but the Bolivian has now revealed that he will not continue as a Citroën driver.

He will compete in Sardinia with a Skoda Fabia RS Rally2.

“New colors, new hopes,” Bulacia wrote in his Instagram post.

Bulacia will be run by the Portuguese team The Racing Factory.

“We are looking forward to returning to the Rally Italy Sardinia, an event that we love and in which we competed for the first time in 2019. See you next week!”

Bulacia finished 12th in the WRC2 standings last year and fifth in the WRC2 Challenger standings.

There is once again a strong line-up in the second class at the Rally Sardinia. Among those competing with Rally2 car are Rossel, Gryazin, Oliver Solberg, Pepe Lopez, Sami Pajari, Pierre-Louis Loubet, Jan Solans, and Teemu Suninen. The event will feature no less than 45 Rally2 cars.
