In recent days, Fourmaux’s name has been increasingly linked with Hyundai’s WRC team. Several unofficial sources have suggested it’s almost certain that Fourmaux will leave M-Sport Ford and join Hyundai as their third driver next season.
There has been no official confirmation of Fourmaux’s future yet, although the Frenchman has hinted that he already knows where he will be driving next season.

Fourmaux has had an impressive season driving the M-Sport Ford Puma Rally1, despite the British team operating on a significantly smaller budget compared to Hyundai and Toyota. Four podium finishes show that Fourmaux is among the sport’s top competitors.
At the Rally Chile a little over a week ago, Fourmaux was on course for another podium finish, but issues with the alternator belt left him in fifth place.
Fourmaux displayed his speed with two stage wins, but one issue weighed on his mind after the rally.
“We have tried things on the test, but they didn’t even come on the rally and we could have had it here. So that’s quite frustrating. There are things in the background, but it doesn’t come,” Fourmaux lamented to Dirtfish.
“Always the same reason, I think,” he added, referring to M-Sport’s perpetual problem—money.
Fourmaux’s comments about M-Sport’s limited resources could be interpreted in various ways. It’s not a new situation, but it’s unusual for a driver to openly express frustration with their team.
Could these comments be a sign that Fourmaux is leaving M-Sport? Possibly. However, nothing is certain until official announcements are made.
In the meantime, Fourmaux still has work to do behind the wheel of the Ford Puma. Last weekend, he tested the car in preparation for next week’s Central European Rally.

Fourmaux hopes he can aim for a top finish on the tarmac roads of the Czech Republic, Germany, and Austria.
“I won there last year in WRC2. But it’s going to be a different game with the Rally1. So we’re going to try our best.”
This weekend, Fourmaux will take part in the Rallylegend event in San Marino, driving the Ford.
