Pajari has competed twice with Toyota’s Rally1 car in the WRC’s top category. The Finnish hopeful made his debut in early August at Rally Finland, where he finished an impressive fourth. In the Rally Chile, which took place just over a week ago, Pajari secured sixth place.

Until now, Pajari had only gained experience with the Toyota GR Yaris Rally1 on gravel, but this changed recently. Pajari got to test the car on tarmac as he began preparing for the Central European Rally.

Pajari will compete in the rally that spans the Czech Republic, Germany, and Austria, driving Toyota’s fourth Rally1 car. This marks his debut on tarmac with Rally1 machinery.

Toyota held its pre-event testing in the Czech Republic, where Pajari hit the road after the team’s factory drivers Takamoto Katsuta, Elfyn Evans, and Sebastien Ogier.

Pajari won’t face any pressure during the Central European round, as he isn’t racing for manufacturers’ championship points. The Finnish driver can focus solely on gaining valuable experience.

This will be Pajari’s last Rally1 event of the season, as he will return to Toyota’s Rally2 car for the season-ending Rally Japan. Pajari will have a lot at stake in Japan, with a chance to celebrate the WRC2 title at the rally’s conclusion.

The Central European Rally will take place from October 17-20.
