The process obviously begins with just the car’s body shell, around which all the parts are assembled, such as the engine and drivetrain. The video showcases everything from the moment the fuel tank and steering are installed.
Bit by bit, the rally car takes shape as the engine, lights, doors, radiator, and side panels are fitted. Finally, everything is checked to ensure it works properly, and the wheels are mounted.
The video, just over 13 minutes long, features a total of 40 different steps showing the assembly of the car’s components. It’s a truly eye-opening look at both the technology behind a modern rally car and the clinical precision with which a top-tier team’s factory operates.

Hyundai’s WRC team is on the brink of a major triumph this season. Ahead of the final World Rally Championship event of the year, Hyundai has already secured the drivers’ and co-drivers’ titles, with Thierry Neuville and Ott Tänak contending for the championship. Neuville leads the standings by 25 points, bringing the Belgian driver tantalisingly close to his first world title.
In the manufacturers’ championship, Hyundai is poised to reclaim victory for the first time since the pandemic-affected 2020 season. The team holds a 15-point lead over Toyota heading into the final round in Japan. However, this margin is slim enough that Hyundai cannot afford to be complacent.
The final WRC event of the 2024 season will take place in Japan from 21st to 24th November.
