Neuville is in a strong position, leading the drivers’ standings by 25 points ahead of his teammate Ott Tänak.

The gap is significant enough for Neuville to take a cautious approach and aim for solid points rather than chasing victory at all costs.

“I’m excited. Excited to finish this rally and on a on a good note,” Neuville said with a smile.

“Once everything started, now it’s like normal. The fact is, we are keeping busy, preparing, and going through our routines,” he continued.

According to Neuville, the high stakes of this rally haven’t affected his preparations in any particular way.

“I think, is the same. There’s nothing we can really do more. Everything has been checked and done. The unpredictable will be the road conditions tomorrow, so we cannot do much about that at the moment,” Neuville explained.

Neuville’s strategy for the season finale is straightforward.

“I will follow my feeling on the first couple of stages, and then, basically, we will adapt depending on the results of the other drivers. The target is just to try to follow our normal rhythm,” Neuville outlined.

Unnecessary risks are not worth taking. Even one mistake could have catastrophic consequences for Neuville’s championship bid.

“It’s like a balance between pushing and taking risks, but also not driving too slowly. And we also want to be there and support the team in case we can for the manufacturers. That will depend a lot on my team-mates as well – whether they are faster or slower – but I expect them to be faster than us this weekend,” Neuville said, referring to Ott Tänak.
