The 34-year-old Cerny, who now resides on the island of Tenerife, will make his WRC2 debut at the opening rally of the 2025 season in Monte Carlo. Cerny will compete in the iconic rally with a Citroën C3 Rally2 car.

Cerny delivered an impressive performance in Monte Carlo last January, dominating the WRC3 class with a Ford Fiesta Rally3 and finishing 18th overall. His car’s maintenance will be handled by the Czech team LMP Racing. Cerny will have solid preparation for Monte Carlo, as he plans to compete in Austria’s Jänner Rally as a test event at the beginning of the year.

The 31-year-old Ondrej Krajca will continue as Cerny’s co-driver in the upcoming season.

“I will be driving a Rally2 car for the first time in my career, and I’m really happy about that. We get to prepare for the new challenge in the Jänner Rally, which is a great event. Hopefully, the conditions will be similar to Monte Carlo so that I can prepare as well as possible,” Cerny says.

The registration deadline for the Rally Monte Carlo was Friday, 20th December, with the entry list set to be published on 3rd January.

The legendary Rally Monte Carlo will open the 2025 WRC season from 23rd to 26th January.
