The 41-year-old last completed a full season in 2021, securing his eighth world title. Since then, Ogier has continued as a part-time driver for Toyota’s WRC team.

This past season, Ogier was initially set to compete in just half the rallies. However, he ended up starting ten events as Toyota pushed him to challenge for the drivers’ championship.

Despite this, retirements in Chile and the Central European Rally ended Ogier’s title hopes, leaving Hyundai’s Thierry Neuville to claim the championship.

In 2025, Ogier has no intention of agreeing to Toyota’s additional requests, should they arise.

“Next year it will be back on half time program,” Ogier emphasised to RallyJournal.com

Ogier also dropped a small hint about his plans for the start of next season.

“I will be in Monte Carlo, but probably after that I will miss a few rally and I will have a bit of a stop after Monte Carlo,” Ogier revealed.

This likely means Ogier will not compete in February’s Rally Sweden and is also expected to skip March’s Safari Rally in Kenya.

Following Kenya, the calendar features the WRC’s new event, the Canary Islands tarmac rally in late April, which might catch Ogier’s interest. After that, May’s traditional Rally Portugal – a favourite of Ogier – awaits.

Ogier started this year with an impressive run, securing three victories and three second places in his first six events. Next year, he aims to give his all once again in Toyota colours.

“Obviously I still enjoy doing this, so I will still come back and try to help the team going for another manufacturer title,” Ogier stated.

The WRC season opener, the Rally Monte Carlo, is scheduled for 23–26 January.
